From 10 to 12 of October 2024, the final of the International Award competition ‘Russian Event Awards 2024’ of the Siberian and Far Eastern Federal Districts was held in Irkutsk. The festival ‘Tastes of the peoples of Transbaikalia on the Great Tea Road – Gastrocamp Chita 2024’ had been presented at the project defense by the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Trans-Baikal Territory Ms. Yulia Ivanova and took 2nd place in the nomination ‘The best event in the field of gastronomic tourism’. During the presentation, the jury members were able not only to watch a video about the project ‘Gastrocamp Chita 2024’ and learn about how it went in the Trans-Baikal Territory, but also to taste dishes and drinks from the Trans-Baikal Menu created by the project’s team.
“We’ve decided to surprise the jury members by offering to try dishes from the Trans-Baikal Menu developed during the festival. They served lemonade based on rhubarb and red currant, tea with the addition of fir, currant, mint and juniper and dessert ‘buzamochi’ with a filling of currants,” mentioned Ms. Yulia Ivanova.
Mr. Ruslan Bolotov, Mayor of Irkutsk, and Mr. Gennady Shatalov, Chairman of the Board of the Fund for the Development of Public Relations ‘Region PR’, founder of the All-Russian competition ‘Tourist Souvenir’, took part in the awarding ceremony of the laureates of the competition.
