Gastronomy as an integral part of creative industries

On January 22, a live broadcast on “Gastronomy as a creative industry” was held on the “Mayak” Radio. The invited guests of the program were the ICWAG President Mr. Leonid Gelibterman and Ms. Nataliia Beliakova, the Director of the Department of Expeditions and Tourism of the Russian Geographical Society, head of the Laboratory of Communications in Creative Industries at the Higher School of Economics.

The field of creative industries is developing at the speed of light. According to the Concept of Creative Industries Development adopted by the Government of the Russian Federation, by 2030 the share of the creative sector in the country's economy should grow from 3.5% to 6%. Today, behind the figures there are already more than 4 million people employed and more than 14 trillion rubles of revenue generated per year.

Gastronomy, as an integral part of the creative sector of the economy, offers unlimited opportunities for creativity and represents a significant aspect of branding and promoting the territory, maintaining and preserving local traditions.
