From May 4 to May 12, at the invitation of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Russian Federation, His Excellency Sasiwat Wongsinsawat, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand in Moscow with the support of the provinces of Khon Kaen and Nong Bua Lamphu, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the Moscow Office of TAT, the Administration of Khon Kaen Province, Thailand Privilege Card Co. Ltd, as well as hoteliers and restaurateurs of Thailand, the Russian delegation headed by the ICWAG President Mr. Leonid Gelibterman visited the Central and Northeastern provinces of Thailand in order to get acquainted with the tourist and gastronomic potential. The delegation included Russian experts in the field of gastronomy tourism, restaurateurs, chefs, and journalists from the largest Russian media holdings. In Khon Kaen, Nong Bua Lamphu and Hua Hin provinces, the delegation members get acquainted with leading hotels, restaurants, agricultural markets, farms, retail chains, food and beverage manufacturers, as well as local cultural sightseeing and folk arts and crafts.
The reception from the Thai side, from the meeting the Russian delegation with the Thai Privilege Card Co. Ltd VIP-service at Bangkok airport, to communicating with provincial governors, was held at the highest level. For their part, members of the Russian delegation took an active part in culinary workshops and other events of the visit program.
During the trip, representatives of the Thai side (both provincial leaders and businessmen) expressed great interest in cooperation in the tourism development (first of all in wine and gastronomy field), expansion of trade and economic cooperation, as well as strengthening the interaction of public organizations of chefs, hoteliers, restaurateurs and the tourism business.
