The oldest environmental organization in the world celebrates the centennial anniversary

On November 30, the international forum “Ecology of the Future” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the All-Russian Society for the Conservation of Nature (VOOP) took place at the innovative site of the Lomonosov cluster in Moscow. It has not only become a platform for communication, exchange of experience and search for new solutions in the field of ecology, but also introduced more than 3,000 guests to the multifaceted palette of tastes of our country at the “Festival of Gastronomic Heritage of Russia”.

The initiator of the festival of Russian gastronomic heritage was the Committee for the Protection of Natural Gastronomic Heritage of the VOOP with the support of food and beverage producers from more than 10 constituent entities of the Russian Federation from Kaliningrad to Chukotka. Chef Anton Salnikov, co-owner of the corporate catering network “Food Technologies”, a member of Committee for the Protection of Natural Gastronomic Heritage of the VOOP, and his team served cold and hot snacks, desserts and drinks on the basis of local products from various regions of Russia for the guests of the festival in a buffet format. A bright addition to the festival was the drink “Uzvar Fetisov”, invented and made by mixologist Evgeny Shkarin in honor of Vyacheslav Fetisov at the “Gastrokamp Volgograd – 2024” project based on the Volgograd regional product “nardek” (watermelon honey).

Anyone had the opportunity to get acquainted with representatives of regional food and beverage producers, taste the delicious products and get the information about them in details at the exhibition area of the festival. In particular, Mr. Vyacheslav Fetisov, the Chairman of the VOOP, H. E. Jose Antonio Morato Tavares, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Russian Federation, and Mr. Juan Pablo Osorio Jaramillo, First Secretary of the Embassy of Colombia in the Russian Federation visited the festival of Russian gastronomic heritage and tried the presented products.

At the solemn ceremony of the forum in honor of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the All-Russian Society for the Conservation of Nature, members of the All-Russian public organization “Guild of Gingerbread Masters and Flag Bearers of Russia” / Gildiya Pryanichnikov personally presented for Mr. Vyacheslav Fetisov a gastronomic gift – a gingerbread with the symbols of the VOOP.

For media representatives participating in the coverage of the forum “Ecology of the Future”, the Committee for the Protection of Natural Gastronomic Heritage of the VOOP and the association “Street Food of Russia” held a tasting presentation of the best Russian street food dishes.

At the invitation of the organizers, the ICWAG President Mr. Leonid Gelibterman was among the experts at the panel discussion of the forum “Green View: the facets of ecology” and spoke about the importance of reasonable and responsible consumption of natural resources from the point of view of food.
