From 18 to 26 of November, the events of the international project “Gastrokamp Yaroslavl – 2024” took place in the Yaroslavl region. An international team of talented chefs, confectioners, mixologists and marketing specialists has developed the “Yaroslavl Menu” based on local products, which can become the hallmark of the region and increase its tourism potential. The project team included the participants from Moscow, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Ufa, Yaroslavl, Uglich and the Republic of Colombia. The initiator of the gastronomic camp in the Yaroslavl region was the State Budgetary Institution “Center for Tourism Development “Yaroslavia” with the support of the Ministry of Tourism of the Yaroslavl region and companies within the hospitality sector.
For several days, the project team got acquainted with the cultural and gastronomic traditions of the Yaroslavl region, visited local food and beverage producers, agricultural markets, and then reflected the regional identity in the dishes of the “Yaroslavl menu”.
For future chefs and confectioners, in particular for the students of the Uglich Industrial and Pedagogical College and the Yaroslavl College of the Food Industry, the team of the project “Gastrokamp Yaroslavl – 2024” held culinary master classes, sharing their secrets and skills of cooking various dishes from local products. Mr. Leonid Gelibterman, head of the project “Gastrocamp”, the ICWAG President, performed with the lecture on gastronomic tourism and gastrodiplomacy for professors and more than 100 students at the Yaroslavl State University named after P. G. Demidov.
The result of the creative work of the project team is 43 author’s dishes and drinks of the “Yaroslavl Menu”. Its official presentation took place on 25 of November at the “Vanilla Sky” restaurant. Among the guests were representatives of regional authorities, travel industry, professional educational institutions, restaurateurs, hoteliers, journalists, as well as a special guest – H. E. Hector Isidro Arenas Neira, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Colombia to the Russian Federation.
