On December 3, an author's dinner of Dominican cuisine took place at the “Senpolia” restaurant in Moscow. Members and guests of the International Diplomatic Gastronomic Club had a unique opportunity to explore the gastronomic traditions of this Latin American country. At the invitation of the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Russia, a team of the chef Ms. Roxanna Fondeur Zaiter and the confectioner Ms. Hanoi Vásquez flew to Moscow from Santo Domingo and created a menu, revealing the secrets of Dominican cuisine.
Furthermore, a rich cultural program was prepared for the guests of dinner. It included bachata and merengue dances performed by Dominican students studying at Moscow universities. The master of the dinner ceremony was Mr. Leonid Gelibterman, the ICWAG President. H. E. Ramon Alejandro Arias Zarzuela, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Dominican Republic to the Russian Federation, performed with a welcoming speech, and Mr. José Manuel Vargas D'Oleo, Adviser on Trade, Investment and Tourism at the Embassy of the Dominican Republic, spoke about the country’s tourism potential. The dinner guests took part in a quiz on the cultural traditions of the Dominican Republic and received memorable gifts from the Embassy.
