On December 6, H. E. Ramon Alejandro Arias Zarzuela, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Dominican Republic to the Russian Federation, held a press breakfast for representatives of the leading Russian media at the “Senpolia” restaurant. Among the questions discussed in the format of an open dialogue were the prospects of cultural cooperation between Russia and the Dominican Republic, as well as the issues of cooperation in the tourism sector. “According to official data, as of December 1, 2024, the Dominican Republic received 10 million 300 thousand tourists. We are interested in increasing the tourist flow to 11 million people by the end of the year,” mentioned H. E. Ramon Alejandro Arias Zarzuela during his speech. As part of the foreign policy concept, the Dominican Republic actively leverages gastrodiplomacy as a tool to promote the national brand abroad. Nowadays at the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic there has been implemented a special program which forms a positive image of the state in the world through gastronomy.
