On May 17, the “Ambassador Kaluga” hotel held a dinner dedicated to the culture and cuisine of Madagascar. Dishes cooked according to traditional recipes of the island were presented by chef Mr. Rabemanantsoa Tuki and pastry chef Ms. Kamilla Ageyeva (Melikova). The gastronomic evening was held with the support of the Malagasy Diaspora in Russia and the project “Africa Calling”.
The cultural and entertainment programme was a bright addition to the evening, immersing the guests in a real journey through the exotic country. Those wishing to test their knowledge of Madagascar and Africa took part in a thematic quiz and won memorable prizes. The models parading in dresses made of coffee bags captivated the audience and proved that the limits of creativity are only in the head. Musical performance of the band “Sallegi”, energetic drum show “Kilimanjaro”, French-speaking hits and Russian classics performed by “Black Impact Music” – every chord immersed the guests in the atmosphere of the holiday. A special part of the show programme was the play of light and silhouettes performed by artists of “Shadow Lab” shadow theatre.
Launched in 2022, the international project “Cuisines of nations of the world and Russia” is being implemented by the team of the “Ambassador Kaluga” hotel together with the International Center of Wine and Gastronomy. Its goal is to provide the citizens of Kaluga city and guests of the region with a unique opportunity to explore the culture and customs of various ethnic and national groups around the world.
