On December 18, the annual meeting of members and experts of the Committee on Gastronomic Tourism, led by its chairman Mr. Leonid Gelibterman, took place at the head office of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (RST). The conference attendees summed up the results of the outgoing year and made project proposals for inclusion in the work plan for 2025.
Throughout the 2024 year the Committee on Gastronomic Tourism of the Russian Union of Travel Industry worked actively on the development of inbound tourism to the Russian Federation and the popularization of gastronomic tourism within the country and overseas. During the conference, members and experts of the Committee shared on specific projects their own experience and discussed the achieved results in the field of enogastronomic and agro-industrial tourism. High performance of the Committee within the year has been greatly appreciated by the RST management and marked by the letter of gratitude from the RST President Mr. Ilya Umansky.
A key issue which remains relevant for 2025 is introducing the concept of “gastronomic tourism” into the legislative framework of the Russian Federation. Developed by members of the Committee, the “Concept of Gastronomic Tourism Development in the Russian Federation until 2035”, may be after a certain modernization the driver of this field in the country.
At the end of the meeting, the chairman of the Committee congratulated colleagues on the upcoming New Year and wished them new gastro-achievements in 2025.
