The Republic of Buryatia hosted the “Gastrocamp Buryatia 2024”

The International Center of Wine and Gastronomy, Tourist Information Center “Baikal” and the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Buryatia organized the "Gastrocamp Buryatia 2024" from March 4 to 10. The project team led by the ICWAG President Leonid Gelibterman included chefs, pastry chef and barman from Moscow, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Zabaikalsky Krai, as well as other regions of Russia. From the Republic of Buryatia, the team included leading chefs from the city of Ulan-Ude and districts of the Republic. During the work of the "Gastrocamp Buryatia 2024", a master class on cooking in a Russian oven was held in the Mukhorshibirsky district at the Isai Kalashnikov Museum-estate in the village of Sharaldai. There was also a series of master classes from federal chefs for students of "Baikal College of Tourism and Service". Members of the project team and restaurateurs of Ulan-Ude got acquainted with the products of Buryat agricultural producers within the framework of a specially organized exhibition with the participation of 21 enterprises and farmers. The products and drinks chosen by the chefs formed the basis for the recipes of the dishes of the new "Menu of Buryatia". On March 10, the official presentation of 40 new seasonal dishes and drinks was held at the Buryatia Hotel in the presence of the Head of the Republic A.S. Tsydenov, representatives of the deputy corps, food manufacturers, restaurateurs, hoteliers, travel business and journalists. The project team consists of Alexander Chernyshov (Moscow), Igor Pintusov (Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky), Evgeny Alfan (Moscow), Zorikto Ochirov (Zabaikalsky Krai), Ekaterina Likhman (Moscow), Kirill Zaitsev (Moscow, Yakutsk), Vladimir Shodotov (Ulan-Ude), Alexey Orlov (Ulan-Ude), Sayan Dorzhiev (Ulan-Ude), Ivan Safronov (Ulan-Ude) and Evgeny Khaltanov (Ulan-Ude) have developed dishes and drinks for different purposes. In addition to restaurant items, a special offer was developed for the formation of tourist travel food packages. Special attention was paid to the preparation of dishes from local products for a healthy lifestyle. The special guest of the presentation was the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to the Russian Federation, Thit Linn Ohn. “Gastroсamp Buryatia 2024” proved to be an effective working tool for the development of gastronomic tourism, improving the overall level of service, and also laid the foundations for the creation of a regional center of Russian gastrodiplomacy in the Republic of Buryatia.
