The International Gastronomic Forum in Samarkand (Republic of Uzbekistan)

From March 22 to March 25, the city of Samarkand hosted an international gastronomic forum, which included the “Sharq taomlari” (Oriental dishes) International Festival, the “Taste of Samarkand” Championship, and an international scientific and practical conference dedicated to the scientific aspects of Oriental cuisine, the development of gastronomic tourism, and the preservation of culinary traditions with the help of UNESCO. At the invitation of Akbar Umarov, Chairman of the Association of Chefs of Uzbekistan, the ICWAG President Leonid Gelibterman took part in the events of the forum. In particular, he made a presentation on the development of gastronomic tourism in the Russian Federation and discussed the participation of the Association of Chefs of Uzbekistan in international projects organized by the ICWAG Negotiations on cooperation were also held with the heads of the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan and the International Academy of Tourism in Samarkand.
