From February 3 to 10, the events of the project "Gastrocamp Sakhalin - 2024" were held in the Sakhalin region. At the invitation of the regional Ministry of Tourism, the team of the project "Gastrocamp Sakhalin - 2024", which included famous chefs, pastry chef and mixologist from Moscow, St. Petersburg and Ufa, visited 15 restaurants in the Sakhalin region and gave their recommendations on dishes to participants of the regional restaurant festival "NaVazhny fest". Individual consultations were held with the owners of the leading restaurants of the Sakhalin region and their chefs.
At the initiative of the regional tourism authorities, round tables were organized with restaurateurs, hoteliers, representatives of the tourism business and the scientific community on the development of gastronomic tourism in the region. On the territory of the food hall "Zharim Varim" in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, master classes were held for professionals and residents of the city, recipes for new dishes and drinks were developed, including scallop sorbet and klopovka lemonade.
As part of the final festive event, the team of the "Gastroсamp Sakhalin - 2024" project, joined by more than 30 chefs, pastry chefs, bartenders and college students of the Sakhalin region, prepared several dishes for hundreds of guests of the "Zharim Varim" gastronomy space. A kind of symbol of island cuisine, combining the features of Russian, Korean and Japanese cuisines, was a Sakhalin-style kulebyak with sima, fern, rice, mushrooms, vanilla pancakes, berblanc sauce and green butter. The Sakhalin-style kulebyak was accompanied by snacks from the menu of leading restaurants in the Sakhalin region. The guests of the gastro show were also treated with sorbet and lemonade based on milk oolong using klopovka, raspberries and Sakhalin strawberries.
Chefs and restaurants who actively participated in the project "Gastroсamp Sakhalin - 2024" were awarded special diplomas and certificates from the Ministry of Tourism of the Sakhalin region.
