Author’s article of the ICWAG President Mr. Leonid Gelibterman has been published in a magazine “The Eurasian Dialogue”, which is a new publication of the International Organization for Eurasian Cooperation. The publication is dedicated to gastrodiplomacy of Latin America countries such as Peru, Mexico, Columbia and Dominica.
Gastrodiplomacy fosters intercultural understanding and strengthens relations between nations and states. This instrument is actively integrated in the foreign policy of some Latin America countries. For instance, the Peruvian government program “Peruvian Cuisine – A World Cuisine” has been successfully implemented in Peru since 2006. In 2018 a similar initiative was launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic in order to strengthen the country’s brand and boost tourism through gastronomy.
