From 25 to 26 of October 2024, the II gastronomic festival-forum of the South of Siberia ‘Baran-Talgan’ was held in the capital of the Republic of Khakassia – the city of Abakan.
ICWAG President Mr. Leonid Gelibterman took an active part in the business program of the festival-forum. To be more precise, he performed as the speaker of the plenary sessions ‘Natural gastronomic heritage as the basis of sustainable gastronomy’ and ‘The concept of the development of gastronomic tourism in the Republic of Khakassia’, moderator of the foresight session ‘Gastronomy as a strategy for the development of the territory’.
There were also set several records at the venue of the festival-forum ‘Baran-Talgan’, including 2024 Talgan candies laid out in the form of the national musical instrument Chatkhan, the salad ‘Chafan’ prepared according to the author's recipe and weighing 300 kilograms, and last but not least – 200 kilograms of cake in the form of a map of the Republic of Khakassia with mountains, rivers and sights! What’s more, speakers and guests of the festival-forum had the opportunity to attend the exhibition of local products and the premiere of the gastronomic play ‘Khakassia – the land of the five essences’.
